This is Abby's American Girl doll Julie. For Halloween, Julie got a costume that matches Abby's (more on that later.) And if anyone wants to know, they are not merely pirates, but "pirate princesses." There's apparently a big difference.
I love using up fabric scraps to sew doll clothes, and with a little practice, I've figured out how easy it is to construct them. If you know a doll in need of a wardrobe and want to start sewing her some clothes, here's a tip: use a spray basting adhesive instead of pins to sew seams, because sometimes the seams are just too little to pin together.
Someday I'm going to get a serger, because that would make sewing doll clothes all the more easy and awesome. I told my husband that.
