This dress is called "The Hallelujah Dress" for two reasons:1- While I was sewing it, I listened to k.d. Lang's version of "Hallelujah" over and over and over again. It's a very pretty song, and it made me think about the fate of King David. In fact, I thought so much about King David, that I didn't focus on my seams, and so the seams in this dress stink.
2- When I finished this dress, I shouted "Hallelujah! It's done!" because I did not have fun with this pattern or this fabric. In fact, this dress really bugs me.
It's one of those patterns that work on paper, but not in real life with real pins or fingers or sewing machines. I had a huge amount of trouble with the invisible zipper and the curved seams on the yoke. But oh well, at least it's finished.
Hallelujah.
